Eve
Aim: A web-based application that would allow users to access a database of 8 million records which tracked the useage of its News Production system. Originally, stored on one machine in one office, it needed to be accessible by a number of staff from different departments. The Global email address list also needed to be incorporated into the database.
End Product: A web based utility that accessed the database. Users could search from their own desk, using inputted criteria, e.g. months, years, regions, or specific dates and could print off reports and charts based on the search results.
It incorporated the email list into the database and allowed regular updating of the email information when required. It also solved the single location issue.
